HOW CAN I CONTRIBUTE? Send your contributions to……. United Way of Indian Wells Valley 206 Balsam Street Ridgecrest, CA 93555  If you want to designate where your gift will go, click on our Pledge Card graphic , print out the form, and select the agency or agencies you would like to support. If you want United Way to allocate your gift, leave all the designation boxes on your pledge form blank and select “Community Care” on the form(or just write “Community Care” on your check). Experienced community volunteers will distribute your gift among the member agencies according to the needs in the Indian Wells Valley.You can also contribute to United Way through a payroll deduction at your work. This is a gift that gives all year long. A specific amount withheld from each paycheck throughout the calendar year amounts to a very meaningful gift… a gift you can feel good about. Check with your company to see if they support payroll deduction to United Way. WHY UNITED WAY? United Way is ... LOCAL.. money raised here is used to fund agencies that help people here, where you live. EFFICIENT.. your gift allows local agencies to devote less time to fund-raising and more time to serving hundreds of people in need. COST-EFFECTIVE..thanks in part to the great deal of work done by volunteers, who help keep administrative costs down. ACCOUNTABLE.. experienced volunteers carefully assess the needs, set priorities, then fund agencies and programs that address critical needs. UNIQUE.. unlike most charitable organizations, United Way addresses a broad spectrum of community problems, ranging from child abuse and hunger to family violence and homelessness. HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE? The amount you give is entirely your decision. No one can or should tell you how much to give, but please consider contributing just 2 hour’s pay per month. Any amount, however, will make a difference in the lives of the recipients of the health and human services the local agencies provide. Whatever you give will be deeply appreciated.. and will contribute to making this community a better place in which we all live… |
